Product Overview

Goldband Snapper (Pristipomoides multidens), marketed as "Golden Snapper" or 金带笛鲷 in Chinese-speaking markets, is a premium deep-water snapper species prized for its distinctive golden lateral stripe, firm white flesh, and delicate sweet flavor. Sourced from the deep reef systems (60–200m depth) of South Sulawesi and the Maluku archipelago, Indonesian Goldband Snapper is among the most sought-after snapper species in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore seafood restaurants.

The deep-water origin of this species is central to its quality profile. At depths of 60–200m, water temperatures are consistently cooler and clearer than nearshore environments, producing fish with superior flesh firmness and longer shelf life compared to shallow-water snappers. The species reaches commercial weight (400g–1.5kg per fish) in natural reef environments, and the wild-caught nature of the product — combined with its distinctive golden coloration — commands a significant premium in live and fresh-chilled markets.

TaMainco sources Goldband Snapper from licensed deep-water fishing vessels operating in South Sulawesi and Maluku waters, where the species is abundant year-round due to the extraordinary richness of the Banda Sea reef ecosystem. Our processing facility in Surabaya handles the product within 12–24 hours of landing, ensuring maximum freshness for both air freight (fresh-chilled) and IQF frozen supply chains.

The species is exported whole round (WR) or headed & gutted (H&G) to Asian restaurant and retail buyers who prefer to process the fish in-house. Full HACCP documentation and Halal MUI certification are standard, making the product suitable for export to all target markets without additional compliance overhead.
