What to settle before you enquire about Marine Products

Marine sourcing from Indonesia turns on two documents more than on price. The BKIPM health certificate is issued per consignment by the national fish quarantine authority and is what customs in most destination markets ask for first. HACCP covers the processing facility rather than the shipment, so both are needed and neither substitutes for the other.

Cold chain is where marine orders most often go wrong, and the failure is rarely at sea. Gaps happen at transfer points: dockside handling, port storage during customs clearance, and the final leg to your warehouse. Agree in advance who carries responsibility at each handover, because that is what determines who bears the loss when a container arrives above temperature.

Species naming deserves a second look at the quotation stage. Common names for grouper and mackerel vary between markets and even between suppliers in the same market, so confirm the scientific name on the specification sheet. It is a five-minute check that prevents receiving a different fish than the one your buyer ordered.
